WINDOW SHRINKAGE (What your supplier is not telling you) 
What outdoor blinds companies do not inform their clients about is the shrinkage factor of the clear window material, be it the 400, 500 or 800 micron super clear PVC. Contraction is a natural property of the plasticiser additive in the PVC. Certain steps are taken during the manufacturing process to minimize the amount of window shrinkage, however the fact of the matter is "Your blind will shrink permanently" HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE MY BLIND TO SHRINK?

IMPLICATION THIS WILL HAVE ON YOUR SIDE SEALING SYSTEM: 50mm Velcro can be used on sides to compensate for up to 40mm shrinkage on sides however at this point blind will not attach firmly to velcro, this is also not the ideal method of operation as blinds are heavy to pull up against resistance of velcro and the velcro does not fair well in sun, although UV treated. STANDARD ZIPS Zips will not close on sides where middle of window starts, therefore resulting in your blind being non-operational. Most companies only give a 12 month guarantee on zips, shrinkage normally occurs after this time frame, resulting in you paying for repair costs.
